An Afternoon Walk

Peacock Feathers, August 2023

An afternoon walk
leads to exquisite beauty
strewn along the path

* Our neighborhood peacock is dropping feathers. These will eventually become fishing flies, but I'll admire them on the table for now.

Everywhere

The Quilt Story, August 2023

Written everywhere
are stories to remind us
we're all held in Love

The Quilt Story, August 2023

*I have always loved Tomie dePaola's illustrations. Yesterday, I ran across this book and it was like finding treasure in a field. This page reminds me of an icon, I'll sit with it for awhile and let it speak to me of being held in love.

Unexpectedly

Bat Face Cuphea, August 2023

Unexpectedly
a frilled blossom casts her own
shadowed loveliness

* What I love about this photo is that the shadow is what caught my eye first, before the blossom. And I think the shadow is the more striking part of the photo. Makes me wonder about my own shadows. Can I find unexpected loveliness there as well?
